Damn that is a good looking Blasto, where are the mushroooms?

;) I think so too! The mushrooms are on the right end, haven't been able to get a decent pic of them yet, I'm gonna try again tonight.

Tracy & Rita's Tank

Tracy & Rita's Tank

Well, I was at Tracy and Rita's last night and took some new pics of their new 90gal reef. I though I would post for them since neither of them have enough posts to be able to post pics over 50k.

Eric, have you calculated how much that tank weighs full? What are the dimensions?

A little late for that isn't it?

48x11.75x8

47.25x11x7.25 inside dimensions including sump (75% full)
So max water weight is 130lbs, another 10lbs of rock, about 5lbs of sand and tank is about 20lbs. So the most it could weigh would be 170lbs and the brackets (I'm using 3 of them) can hold 500lbs each. Plus they are bolted to exterior wall (2x6) studs. No worries. ;)

Nice tank Tracy and Rita! Thanks Todd for posting it. Were getting some nice looking tanks here in SCMAS!!

Eric, do you have fish in this tank? what do you plan to stock it with fishwise? Also is the top open? Have you ever build an acrylic canopy for a tank before?
Chris

I have a starry blenny and a yellow watchman (both very small currently). The yellow watchman has found his way into the overflow box so I'll need to fish him out once I build a guard for the overflow. Only other stocking might be a firefish (again once a guard is built and eggcrate is purchased) and then I just want some shrimp. I want a 3-some of sexy shrimp and then 1 harlequin.

As for a canopy, I built one out of acrylic for this one. It's quick, cheap and doesn't have doors but it holds the lights and serves it's purpose. When I need to get into the tank, I just lift it up and rotate it onto it's back. The T-5 ballasts are just stuck onto the top of it, and the reflectors are held in place with small nuts and bolts going through the top of the acrylic.
