Yeh 330 is bit low. But not awfully low...
I personally would not do home recipes with potassium. K+ overdose can cause RTN.. so just be careful
I use zeovit K balance strong. Its great.

I found food grade products on Amazon, down to $2.60 a pound, but that was for a 50 lb bag. I don't know whether the water softener products would be safe. Supplementation doesn't take much per gallon, which is good, but there might be some very toxic impurities, at least in theory.
