potential 60 gal stock list.

I want to research and get opinions on my stock list prior to setting up my 60 gal fowlr.

12.75"L x 48.5"W x 25" H. Its the marineland sold at petsmart if anyone else has one.

I also Need suggestions on a filter (canisters or HOB ?) Dont want sump yet afraid of flooding)


My list so far
1 or 2 clownfish (have 1 in a 10 already )
Chocolate starfish (wifes wishes)
I would like a tang or foxface for the main fish
1 fire angle
1 cardnial
And a school of damsels or other small dither fish 3 to 5

No corals possible a Clean up crew if i need one:bounce1::wave:

I believe that a tang or foxface would be to big for the tank but the others seem like a good fit. Look into green chromis becaue damsels can be really mean! You might be able to do a tomoni or kole tang but be careful not to overstock. And a skimmer is best to. I have a hob skimmer and a hob filter.

I agree, you will have problems with both the tang and the foxface due to a lack of room. I would also caution you on the starfish, it will eat everything in the sand bed and then starve. The angel is likely to give you problems down the road as it matures, they get very aggressive in a tank under 70 gallons, and really do best in a tank over 100 gallons. The clown fish will be less aggressive if you only keep one, once they mate they will claim a substantial portion of the tank as theirs and not allow others to enter their space. I realize this is not the input you were looking for, but I'm afraid making some changes to your fish selection will be be in your best long term interest.

I open to suggestions on fish stocking. I already have the clown and my wife wants the chocolate starfish ( researched it and how to feed him meaty foods so he wont starve.)

Other then them i would like a center pice fish with wow factor and a school of little peaceful fish for extra movement and color. Staying Fowlr for the duration of the starfish then would like soft corals

No damsels! They're gigantic *** holes! Tang and foxface are probably to big as stated.

Look at some of the flasher wrasses, they are beautiful fish. The fairy wrasses would present some of the aggressive issues in your tank that you want to avoid, also a royal gramma. Keep in mind this is a 4 ft long 60gal not the square one o have seen on the forums . I dunno if the footprints matters in the selection or not

Scratch the foxface. I have toddlers and cant have anything poison or venum incase they stick there hands in when im not looking . Wrass look nice can i keep muliple of them?

Iv got a nice silver belly wrasse that I love, very personable active and not bad looking

Yes, you can keep most of the different wrasse species together in the same tank.
