I have a 150 gallon 6' long FOWLR tank, a LFS close to me got in a tigerpyge angel that looks great. My current inhabitants are listed, do you think I can add this fish or should I leave it?

African flameback angel
Yellow eye kole tang
Helfrichi firefish
Red firefish
2x perculas
orange spot goby
Matted filefish
Regal angel
Goldflake angel
Bandit angel

Thank you for any input

You might get some static from the other angels...def rearrange/add rock if possible, lights off for 2-3 days, you know the routine...lol, time for a bigger tank...good luck...do you have a pic?

While you could probably do it, I wouldn't. You've got some decent size angels (or the will be). In my opinion, pushing stocking levels is one of the best ways to invite aggression and or disease.

I never took a pic of it and I never got ahold of the store today. I will be going there when they open on Tuesday, so I will update you guys then. If they have it, I will give it a try, if he doesn't work out in my main DT, I will put him in a different tank until I upgrade the DT.

Sounds like a plan. What size tank are you planning?

I have a 150 right now, a 30 holding tank, a 30 QT tank and a 55 I will set up if I need to make a home for this angel. I am putting my house on the market in 1-3 months and then I am planning an upgrade. The size will depend on the house I buy and what my wife lets me get. I would ideally like approximate 600

I would imagine the most aggression would come from the flameback then the goldflake. Current size of each angel is something I would consider, as well as using a large acclimation box. I've had great success using acclimation boxes for several days to a week and a half in familiarizing more aggressive wrasse and tangs.

At the end of the day A species tank for a fish like that is nice too if you see some bad signs.

I have a larger acclimation box that I use. It's 1' x 1' x 2.5'

The flameback I might remove anyways as he picks on my GoldFlake

I'm not an expert on angels but most my reading anymore is on them. Without the flameback I think it could work out and with a qt as back up after your ready to add, there is nothing to lose honestly.

I always wanted a flameback or cherub but I get squeamish of notoriously aggressive fish

I think you will be ok - like you said, if you need to you can always remove the flameback - I think it will be the most likely source of aggression.
