Potential new small hadonni for me

I may have this 6" beauty coming my way next Tuesday. I've got it on hold until they can confirm that this picture is a true representation of this nem's color. One of their livestock handlers is supposed to call tomorrow to confirm that it is truly this baby blue color. If it is, its mine :)
The description calls it a "gray and green saddle carpet" but the picture is obviously showing a nice baby blue color. Pics taken under 400 watt 20K and I have 250 20K with actinics over my tank.
Keep your fingers crossed that it really looks like this:

Are you sure that is a haddoni? How can you tell from that pic?

PS, good luck. Looks nice.

I thought all saddle carpets were hadonni? Also, the short, stubby, dense tentactles make it look like a hadonni.
I just hope it is actually this color. With my luck it will be a typical grey/green saddle and the pic is a little too 'photoshopped' ;)

I guess it does look like a saddle, but a very pretty looking saddle at that. Hope the color is close to.

I know this has been answered, but why did you get rid of the red?

The red was getting huge. It was seriously close to 16" across, with folds and it had moved itself to a high traffic area of the tank. I was afraid of losing my prized juvenile Red Sea Regal angel to it. Even though a nice big red carpet nem is rare, a juvenile Red Sea Regal that eats Formula II flake food is even rarer! I'd rather watch the angel grow for years to come than keep a large nem that could eat it.
I'm pretty sure it ate my mystery wrasse which helped make up my mind as well. Even with all this, it was a tough call to move it on.
I'm finally setting up my small 40 gallon cube which was too small for the red carpet, but should be plenty big for this new small carpet for quite a while.

i wish i lived in kansas your tank with all these nems must be awsome sonofgadriel cant wat to see that nem in there too maybee the pink skunk will take to it and you can have the pink and baby blue combo
congrats if its for real

A saddle carpet is a haddoni and yes that is a haddoni in that picture. You can tell by the size, shape and how close all the tentacles are together.

I noticed that purple base too! Another reason I'm hoping this is a special colored saddle hadonni!
Maybe as "exremely rare" as the "true white saddle carpet" :)
I still haven't heard back from anyone at the store as to the true coloration.

Thanks, but the tank really isn't anything to be too excited about. Its coming along though.
At this time I have 4 color variations of BTAs (rose, bright yellow/green, emerald green with pink tips, and yellow/tan with purple tips), a tan/yellow H. malu, a medium size bleached crispa, two small (3") true yellow H. crispas, a flourescent orange flower anemone, and the blue base rittieri. I moved out the large red hadonni a few weeks ago.
I'll put up some new tank pics this weekend.

Bad news. This nem is not as blue as the pics shows. It is a more grey/green color according to the messages I received. I won't be getting it.
Good thing I asked for a little clarification. I'd have been pretty ticked spending $125 for a grey/green saddle.

i have an orange buble tip its a lil bleached hoping it doesnt turn more red the body is getting browner but the tips are staying orange hopefully as it gets healty it stays orange

I had that same experience with LA. Pick looked cool, label said something else, but bought it anyway. I was hoping it wasn't the case for you. Good thing you asked.

Yeah, too bad. I would have killed for a true baby blue carpet like the color in the pic. Someone else quickly grabbed it once they took it off my order. I hope that person isn't too upset when they get a grey carpet. Of course, with my luck, it will be blue :)
Bones-Did you mean the blue long tentacle? I just called on it. Its not really blue either. According to them, it is their 'lighting' making it look blue. "It may be cream under different lighting" :) But they can call it blue cause that's how it looks in their tank.
I've decided not to trust their pictures any longer. I'll wait until my LFS get some nice colors in. I'm tired of wasting my time and money on stuff from LA only to find out I could have bought the same thing locally for 1/3 the price!

$50 for a 1.5 inch LTA? That's pretty steap. I'm picking up a nice purple crispa, 4" or so, for $25 locally. I'll be spending more at the LFS than LA and hopefully getting more for my money.
It is tempting when you see it online though. Those pictures seem to draw you in :)
