I have recently upgraded from a 90 gallon to a 180 gallon tank and decided to use my 90 gallon tank as qt tank for some of the more differcult to acclimate wrasses before they go into my 180 gallon tank. I had no issue with ick in the past and left quite a bit of live rock all the sand , skimmer and sump in place in my 90 gallon tank
Day 1 , I did a 90 minute drip and release the potter in a low light tank. 30 minutes later it went into the sand. Next day around 11 am , he came up for about 4 hours stayed in one corner of the tank and took a little bit of mysis. I also treated the tank with prazi pro . Day 2 he came up about the same time at 11 am and explored more of the tank and ate a little mysis and some shaved frozen lobster eggs that I keep from some lobsters I caught last year. Went back into the sand around 6. Today he came up again at 11 am, picking at the rocks and took some more mysis and Lobster eggs. He refused any other food type so far. It is great to have a large QT tank to acclimate a leopard wrasse from the ocean without risking your display tank with all your other fish. I am planning to add a few more leoprad type wrasse over the next 4 to 6 months if things go well before I shut down my 90 gallon tank. So far so good

I find they take to HK mysis as well as the PE. I would suggest keeping a single anthias or another wrasse in the 90, for me I find my new fish have an easier time adjusting to aquarium eating habits with other fish around. You dont want a fish that's overly aggressive or that will eat all the food given. That's a great looking potters, hope it makes it for you.

So far he eating PE mysis , slivers of scallop and lobster eggs. No interest in artic pods, flakes , very small live brine and cyclopeez, but it is only day 4. with a large tank overfeeding the tank system is not an issue. I agree that having another fish can stipulate a feeding response , but it also allows the fish to be in a very low stress surroundings. I am planning to add some leopard wrasse in a few weeks if all goes well.

I've had mine for about 3 years now and she eats everything now. Best of luck to you, I love the leopards, they add a special dimension that other fish can't.
