hi all ! Yesterday I got some new fish. Everything was looking fine, aclimate the fishes for 3 hours using dripping (as I usually do). Put them in the QT just to see today in the morning that the Potters angel fish is swimming upside down. He was not like this during acclimation or in the night.

I dont know what to do. Please help.

Some pics of the fish

Yeah, that's not good. Swim bladder problem maybe. BTW, if you are using QT (which you should) there is no need to drip acclimate. Adjust the QT salinity to that of the shipping bag, float for 15 mins for temperature, and pour it in. Far, far better than a protracted drip. You can then bring salt level back up to 1.025 with a basic ATO.

Sorry about your fish.
How were your water parameters in your QT?
Next time around buy a Coral Beauty - it's easier to keep and it's a really cute dwarf angel fish.
Potters DON'T ship well!
And follow ca1ore's advice for acclimation.

Potters angel is a very twitchy fish. They don't acclimate well and can die suddenly even after you think it's successfully acclimated. They are obsessive grazers and need a lot of live rock to keep them well fed.

That's a shame. In the mail or from a local store?
It was from a local store. It was a custom order. I asked specifically for that fish.

All Params are ok in the tank. There is an Achilles tang in it too. And thats also a sensitive fish.

I don't know what could have gone wrong.

I will wait a lot for giving it another try.

All I can think of is using the net to transfer it from the acclimating vessel to the QT.

Sorry, but 'luck' with one sensitive fish, does not mean success with another... as ca1ore mentioned Potters can die suddenly... even after a seemingly successful acclimation and a few weeks/months in the tank.

So sorry for your loss.
I hate when things are going well and take an unexpected downturn.
I wish you better luck on your next try. I lost 3 Copperbands before I had success.

My Potters had the same issue last month. TTM went fine and 3 weeks of QT were in the past.
One day he was just swimming upside down for no apparent reason.
Search here led me to the swim bladder issue. Tried the peas, but he din't touch them, at least that I saw.
I mentally prepared for another lost fish, but somehow, he survived and was fine the next day, He is now enjoying the big swim tank.
