My diver's den potter's was doing great at first. Ate my pellets and PE mysis right away as in the next day. I went ahead and put it in my DT which it got ich or fluke problems or something. Lightened in color and died.

it did eat all my pineapple sponges and my hitch hiker feather dusters.

Until I lost all my fish, these guys were almost 2 years old (with me) and they made love like this every time the halides went off and the actinics came on.

Have to say Centropyge potteri is my favorite angel. Just got a juvenile last week. I would say it's just under a year. I had been keeping a eye on this one ever since my LFS got him in, back in august. I didn't want to bring home one that just arrived. So i waited to see if, while at the LFS, it would adjust to it's captive environment. They were feeding it pellet and mysis with no problem. Once i got him home, it took to Rod's Original blend and now eats it like a pig! Great fish!

In LFS bought potter's, I do think that this species survival success in captivity has a lot to do with how it was collected and held before transport, how quickly it was transported from the south Pacific to the LFS, how it was acclimated at the LFS and it's environment in it's tank at the LFS.( Tank mates, Aged tank with algae growth and live rock. Etc....) and what food's it was introduced to while there.

Of course long before considering one of these to add to your DT at home, one must factor the age of your tank, the amount of live rock with algae growth and tank mates.

I had great success 17 years ago with the Centropyge potteri, keeping one alive for over 4 years in a 75 gal with live rock and a Scopas Tang, Two false perc's and a Yellow Halichoeres chrysus wrasse until i had to sell the tank and take them to my LFS.

I do hope to keep this one much longer.

I've had mine for well over a year and he eats everything, the 1st one i put into a QT died. So this one went stright into my main tank. However he does like a few corals for dinner maily SPS and softys which is why when i build my new tank i will be selling my potters and multibar.

I have had one for a little over a year. I had him in QT for 8 weeks, trying to make sure that it was eating and healthy.

He loves Rod's food and mysis.

I would recommend them to anyone but just make sure and QT and get them eating.

I also have a flame angel in the same tank and it would be hard for me to pick a favorite.
