Potter's Angel

NyteReefer

In Memoriam
Why are they so hard to keep, would they be ok in a 55gallon tank? They have about 5 of them at my LFS, and they seem to be doing very well.

They do best in a reef. My LFS has three of them in their reef displays and they are FAT. Make sure the fish looks clean is active and readily taking prepared foods. A 55g is the smallest tank I would attempt to put "One" in. Make sure it has plenty of rock for grazing and hiding. I would try one but I keep some nice LPS and do not want to take a chance of having a fish nip at them. No angels allowed.

Feed em whatever the LFS is feeding if thats who has got them fat. Mine will eat anything I put in the tank. Ocean Nutrition makes a frozen Dwarf Angel formula that I like, also Rods Foods and anything with sponge since thats their primary food source in nature. Mine will eat Nori off a clip too.

The biggest challenge is getting them to eat. Once that's done, I think they're no less hardy than any other dwarf angel.

Be warned though. Like any other dwarf angel, this fish can be a bully, and it may eat corals. My Potter's eats brain corals. Seems to leave my softies and hammer alone and so far has shown no interest in clams.
