I have a Powder Blue Tang that I have had for in my display for about 3 weeks now after a short QT. The fish looked very healthy and was eating well at the LFS. In QT, same thing. I then put it in a 210g with a somewhat nasty Purple tang, Hippo tang, Rabbit Fish. The PT had tormented 2 previous rabbit fish to death. I was hoping there would be no problem with the PBT. For the first couple of days the PT was relentless chasing the PBT. The PBT would come out to eat but quickly be chased back to the corner.
After the first week all settled down but I saw 5-6 small ICH looking places on the PBT. I picked up some KICK ICH or ICH KICK, had heard good stories about it, ICH and the reef, expecting a major outbreak the following day. It actually looked better so I did nothing. Now after nearly 10 more days the PBT eats like a horse, always picking at the rocks, holds his own against the larger Hippo tang, avoids the PT but for the most part stays his ground............now after the long story.........
The PBT still has what appears to be ICH in different areas daily, never very bad, some days a few more spots than others and it never has appeared on any of the other fish. I am running a 25w UV, have been for the past several months - any ideas? Could it be ICH and he is fighting it off naturally?
