I just got a powder blue a little over a week ago and he absolutely loves broccoli. I didn't have nori at the time and was wondering what I could give him. Did a little research online and decided to put some spinach in at first. But when he went to tear at it it got all over the tank so Broccoli was my next choice.

The first day he was in he didn't eat a thing, but now he wont stop eating the broccoli hes always by it always tearing chunks out of it. This post is kind of pointless I'm just happy that he is eating.

Have any of you ever tried anything like this I have heard people raising there tangs entirely on romaine. Another thing I have to believe is that this frozen Broccoli has more nutrition than baked Nori Right I mean its fresh all the Nutrition hasn't been processed out of it. I will most likely be adding some nori to his diet also but right now he seems to be happy.

thats a really awesome looking PB you got. those are by far my favorite tang i just wish they werent so angry haha

Hes been a model citizen hasnt bothered any other fish so far fingers crossed. I have a flame angel about half his size in there and they swim together almost all the time. Funny thing is the angel loves the broccoli also.

Id like to see a study on feeding marine fish terrestrial vegetables. While many herbivores eat broccoli and lettuce, I'm not sure how much nutritional value they provide.

Bananas.....

Bananas.....

I have no clue as to the nutritional value Bananas have on marine fish. Nor do I have insight on how bananas will have on your system in general. However; if you want to see your fish go crazy during feeding.....try very small pieces of banana. Seriously.

To be honest; I was bored one day and was eating a banana as I was staring at my display. The fish came towards the glass as if I was about to feed them. So instead of the "normal" response of finding some proper fish food; I fed them some banana out of curiosity. They went insane. My best guess is the scent of it. Tangs, angels, triggers were all eating it eagerly.

I now use it as a "treat" or even appetite stimulant for species that are known to be a little more difficult to adapt to prepared foods.

Well it was frozen broccoli so its been pre washed. I do wash each peice I add just to be safe though. Im thinking about seperating each peice before hand and spraying with selcon and then re freezing them for a little added nutri value.
