Powder Blue Tang diet

Hey everyone, I'm a fairly new Tang owner and want to make sure I feed it properly. This is what I currently feed it and my other fish. One day I feed my home made food, which is fish (like grouper), raw shrimp, squid, scallops, clams and some nori. I mix a bunch of this at one time, chop it and feeze it in sheets. The next day I feed frozen cubes of different things like Plankton, Mysis, Mussels, Emerald Entree. Not all the same day, I just alternate. Also a few days a week I add Selcom.

Then every day I feed nori sheets. Not sure if I give the tang enough though. I have 2 clips in the tank and I put nori on both clips twice a day, so that's 4 sheets of about 3" x 3". Problem is I have 3 fish that like the stuff: the Tang, Foxface and Niger Trigger. So after I put the sheets in, it's usually gone within half hour. Each of the 3 fish eats their share.

So is this enough or appropriate food for a Powder Blue?

It sounds like you are on the right track. After the nori sheets are gone I would replace them so that there is always nori available.

I just traded for a blue tang and I have lost track of all but 2 small aptasia. I did not know they would eat it. I sure am glad because I went through a bottle of Joes Juice and the just keep comming back, more and bigger. I feed mine Seaweed salad and he loves when I cut up shrimp. He has been a great addition to my little reef.

Sounds good, maybe use some pellet/flake food that has a lot of spirulina/kelp.

I like Omega One Super Veggie Flakes/Pellets.
