Powder blue Tang Facts

Do it for sure a 120 is fine for a pb tang. Some advise put the pb tang in first they do better when they are established first. When you add it after other fish they tend to get beat on and then usually get ich.

I agree and would add that C. Marginalis are Australian and tend to be handled a lot better.

Pricey little guy, Very awesome though. I think i've decided to just go with the yellow tank and an assortment of small fish, such as, anthias, chromis, and longspine cardinals.

i have a PBT in my tank thats been in there for a year now with no drama's at all. he has never had ich or WS. he pretty much has the whole tank to himself tho as there is only 5 talbot damsels in with him. the tank is 48x24x20

I kept a pb tang in my 110 (42 by 24 by 24) for about a year. He did great just chastised every new addition I attempted. So just be ready to either give him/her the entire tank or make him/her the last addition.

i have a 6" powder blue in a 240 gal with an 8" blue tang, and the powder blue still picks on him!
they've got attitudes...give em their space.

My advice, dont do it. I had a medium PBT in my 180, and after a few months donated it a larger system, wish I couldve returned it to the ocean. These fish, PBT's, are swimmers. They need a LOT of room, and a 4' tank is just not even close unless the fish was a baby. Maybe seeing them in the wild would make you understand.

If you decide to do it though, get the smallest one you can find, know that your 120 cannot house this fish long-term, and have plenty of Nori on deck.
