What exactly do they eat? Are the pellet and flake fish food good enough or is there something else they would prefer?

As with all tangs you need to feed algae as well. This can be in the form of algae sheets from the LFS or unseasoned nori from asian supermarkets.

I picked up some sheets of sea-weed today and put it on a clip to go indside my tank. I got the fish yesterday...is it normal for it to not eat the first couple days as it gets used to its new home?

My PBT loves frozen Emerald Entree, Marine Cuisine and Mysis. I feed nori soaked in vita-chem and garlic guard 2-3X aweek.

If you put a couple drops on the nori, it will soak and you can feed it within a couple minutes.
I feed at least 40% algae to my tangs. They really like the Julian Sprungs purple aglae sheets.
I have a algae clip with fishing line tied to it. Put the strip in and drop to the bottom. It's eaten within 2 minutes.
For the remainder of the diet I feed a variety of Frozen foods and New Life Spectrum Ther-A pellets.
Your 225 gal should be a nice home for him. Cool fish.

This might sound like a dumb question but im still learnig sooo..lol when you say you soak it in garlic guard do u let it sit and soak for a certain period of time or do you just put it on the Nori and then put it right in the tank?
