Powder Blue Tang with Magnificent Foxface

I currently have a Harlequin Tusk, a Golden Arothron Puffer and a Powder Blue Tang in my 210 and I am thinking about adding a Magnificent Foxface. The concern I have is that my Powder Blue is extremely defensive of the patches of algae on my rockwork and glass and goes beserk anytime his tankmates show interest in the algae. I know that Foxfaces are similar to tangs in the fact they are constantly grazing and I fear WWIII will break out when the Foxface starts grazing on the algae. My puffer is 11" long and very full bodied and from time to time likes to graze on hair algae and when this happens the tang immediately attacks until the puffer backs off, so size doesn't matter to the tang when it comes to defending his territory. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

My one spot foxface does graze a little but for the most part he would rather have nori sheets or frozen food I use San Francisco Bay Angel & Butterfly Diet has spanich, mysis shrimp, squid and some other stuff he goes nuts for it plus I feed formula two pellets. He doesn't touch my algea to much probably because I feed alot lol. Also if your tang does get out of hand the foxface will not think twice about using its spines atleast mine does't lol. Goodluck with the choice you make!!

The rabbitfish being venemous really won't help if the Powder Blue decides to be a butthead. The bottom line is that you'll still have a stressed out PBT, stressed out rabbitfish, and this will disrupt the harmony amongst everyone else...meaning the rest of the fish may be stressed out. We all know what happens when the tank is a big stress box... :fun4:

Have you thought about taking your powder blue for therary so he can learn to share. :lol2:

Seriously, my onespot foxface loves the algae sheets but I never see him grazing on the live rock.

Thanks for the input everyone, I've decided to do the right thing and pass on the Foxface. Its not always fun to hear what you have in mind isn't going to work out, but candid advice is the best advice!
