How fragile are Powder blue tangs? I have heard that they get Ick very easy.

My other choice is a Sohal. Love them boh but know i can pretty much only have one tand of this shape.

Either worth getting or is it just a fact they will come down with something?

These are my 2 favorite fish. So i would at least like to own 1 of them one day

Powder blue tangs have a fairly poor record in the hobby. You need to research very thoroughly the requirements for keeping this fish.

Unless your tank is huge, I wouldn't consider a Sohal. Perhaps you could give us some insight into your tank so we can give some more appropriate feedback.

ok

It's a 180 gallon reef tank tons of live rock curent fish are

Flame angel
yellow tang
Flame Hawk
Maroon gold bar clown
Few blue damsels

yeah no, shoal in that tank thats for sure. The PBT's dont have a good record as stated. If you really want one, one of the best ways is to have a store hold it for a little while and make sure hes healthy and eating. Even then some dont do well. But if you want one really bad this is one of the best ways to help ensure you have a healthy one. just my two cents

Sohals grow quick, are VERY aggressive, and command a very large tank. Im guessing your 180 is 6 feet long. This is borderline. I personally do not think it is too small, but a larger tank would be better. These fish love to swim.

SO, it sounds like taking a chance on a powder blue is my best bet?

My wife will be happy she just loves the powder blue. Happy wife= happy Me
