is a powder blue much harder to keep than a powder brown. I had a brown for 5 years and it passed on, never had a ich prob. Any sugesstions on a powder blue?

They are much of a muchness.
That said, according to numerous sources the japonicus brown is a lot tougher than the nigricans.

My japonicus has has white spot for months.
Cant seem to shake it unless I treat with copper.
My previous powder blues were never this troublesome from a ws point of view

I have had both, currently have a Brown. The Blue I gave to a fellow reefer with larger fish. The Blue was in my 215 and I really thought that tank was too small, it constantly was swimming the length of the tank frantically all day long and was a nasty SOB. He did eat everything and they are absolutely beautiful, never had a problem with ick. The Brown I have now is much more mellow, not nearly as aggressive, eats anything and no problems with ick.

A. japonicus is much easier than the blue and not as nasty. If you do go with the brown make sure it is A. japonicus and not nigricans as they rarely survive more than a few months in captivity. There are always exceptions but this is the rule with these two.
