Powder Brown Tang -NOT ich......

I have had my powder brown tang now for about a month. Stupidly about 2 weeks after I added her I went out to PETCO (I know, I know really stupid) and bought an O.clownfish to pair up with my current one.

As of yesterday I noticed what looked like Ich so I added a few drops of my own Ich remedy (which works) and it has since turned into gray patches on her belly.

If anyone knows what this could be, and how to cure it please tell me.

I'm curious, what's your "own Ich remedy"?

Well, it is not just one thing, its like a series of steps including different medications and water conditioners and parameter changes. And of course water changes.

Why dont you share your ich remedy with us , might help a few people from losing fish.

So far it has only worked on two fish. I don't want to share it with others, and they try it, something goes terribly wrong I get all the blame.

I am trying to cure my PBT now, and if all goes well I will post my methods.

I could try, but as of now there is no point.

I had thought that I had cured was was the few little white spots on her belly, and they went away and then got all patchy as described.

But when I got home to day she was covered with white spots all over her face. So now I am on to plan B (Destroy All Forms of Ich). In which I use a relatively potent garlic supplemented food and I dose the tank with several Ich medications and a bit of garlic each day, and if all goes well, she should be all better in a day or two. But I continue the feeding and dosing for another 3/4 days depending on how comfortable with how the fish are doing.

I am also killing two birds with one stone, becasue that stupid little clown that I bought at PETCO is probably the source of the Ich and he isn't so hot either, so I maybe able to cure both of them at the same time.

I mean, I am sure that it is the PETCO clown because the first fish I ever bought (my huge WC O.clownfish) is perfectly fins and happy so I am sure that is just the one clown that triggered everything. At least that is one more eye witness source that can attest to the quality of live stock coming out of PETCO stores

Yup, and I now have a personal experience with needing to QT every fish I buy from now on.
