Powder Brown Tang & Powder Blue Tang

I was wondering who out there has the two togeather. I am thinking on adding a Blue to the tank. I'm sure there is going to be arguments over this probably, so please if you have actually tried it and it did or didn't work please chime in. Thanks guy's and ladies!

Something to consider here is how many people have put yellow and purple tangs together and don't have a problem.

I agree, I have yellow and purple tangs in several of my clients tanks and they are doing great(keeping my fingers crossed). I also have a a powder blue and brown together with no issues yet. However they are in a 750 gallon tank. I think the key is finding two fish that will actually bend the rules so to speak, cause as we all know no two fish act the same. It could take several tries before it works out.

Yeah, that is what I'm relying upon myself. I've had several fish together even when I had strictly an agressive tank that everyone said not to put together. I have learned that you can actually take out a trouble maker and re introduce him back into the tank after a few hours and it's like a reset button with the fish and have no problems after that, funny huh. And how I wish I had the room for a 450g tank. You are the kind that makes me want to make a addition to my greatroom/ livingroom, LOL.

I think the key is adding them at the same time. I think when my hippo and foxface pass on I am going to add brown and blue together in my 120. They are both 4 years old so I probably have 4 more years to wait.

ther will definitely be problems. it helps that you are adding the blue after the brown since the blues tend to be more aggressive but. regardless the brown its extablished and the tank a 125 wont be enought room for the blue to hide or get away if the brown decides it doesnt want him there. i wouldnt do it. also the fact that tehy are very prone to ick with any little amounts of stress. which means you can run the possibility of losing both fish by trying to add one. if your brown is doing good i would live it alone....you can also rearrange the intire rock set up. but then i dont know how bad you actually want that fish. but this also comes with problems. like if your tank doesnt have enought flow or you have a lot of detritus build in your rocks you can spike your nitrate levels and kill everything in your tank... well regardless what you do good luck and let us know what you decide....

and remember yellows and purples are fish that are a lot stronger then the powders...

I know it's 8 years down the road - but wondered how you got on with this ? Was it all out war ? Was it ok ? Or was it something else entirely ? Or has anyone else tried this ?

I thought it was specifically the purple tangs that where extremely aggressive, are Yellow tangs meant to be similarly bad as well?
