powder brown with ich

Well, I set up my quarantine and purchased a huge , hungry PB tang and 10days after purchase, he was covered with what I thought looked like ich(I shop at Petco, so I see it alot!) I did my reading here, so I was prepared with cupramine and test (API). I removed him from my QT, which included a goby, flame and yellow eye tang who were not showing signs, and started a second QT. One day of cupramine at a level of 0.25, as best I can tell from the API test, and the fish has no signs. It is not that I think he is cured, but rather I question my diagnosis or can I expect external signs to clear up this quick with ICH? I am tapering the cupramine up, so I realize the level may be low. Only 1 day so far.

Read the stickies in this forum, particularly these:

Don't be fooled into thinking he's cured when the external symptoms disappear. It's part of the ich lifecycle to fall off the fish (which then reproduces and then reinfects). If the PB Tang had ich, the other fish in that QT were also infected and should be treated. Read up on the tank transfer method. Much easier than treating with copper.

Tank transfer

Tank transfer

Can I place the exposed fish, that were housed in QT with the powder brown, kole tang and flame dwarf in transfer process together?

yes but all the fish need to restart QT again. day 1

edit: after reading it again.. you placed the PB in 1st QT already. so your goby, flame and yellow eye tang could have ich too now

I purchased all at same time so I placed in the 2 month QT, and the PBT showed ich, so I removed it to a separate tank by itself. He is in a cupramine daily titration and doing great, he cannot get enough to eat. So what I learned, to do tank transfers instead of cupramine to save time! My flame died without external signs of ich, just bloated abdomen
