Power head question

Hi guys,

Can anyone who has a 55 gallon tank tell me what size, how many power heads you use, and placement that works well for you?

Thanks vcam. We have tried a few diff sizes and they are either to strong or not strong enough. i am starting to think that maybe we are just not setting them up right and i wanted to get some advice so i could try some different things.

I ran two MP-10's placed on the back wall when I had a 50 gallon tank.

Can you tell me which ones you've tried that didn't work and why. (Too powerful, too weak, whatever)? I am also shopping for my 60 gallon and haven't found much help.

Hey MichelleMas…we have just ordered 2 Hydor Koralia Evolution 750/850 pumps. These are weaker than the ones we had before that were to strong, but stronger that the ones we had that were to weak if that makes sense. We spoke to the guy that owns the local small saltwater store here and he told us that would be a good size too. He also told us that we should place them on each end of the tank about 1/3 down from the top and aim them towards the surface. We are also going to put a little nano pump in the middle on the back of the tank to break up the flow. When we got home we did this with the pumps we have and it really helped a lot so placement has a lot to do with it too. Previously we were aiming the ones on the side straight across instead of up. I hope this helps.
