Power outage 1:00AM CANT WIN

Just can't win...
Took the servers off the UPS because the UPS broke and less than 24 hours later the power goes out!!!!

Had to wakeup and get the whole neighborhood up with the generator...

But the generator has issues too, Need to fix that now...
The generator would shut down every 5 mins .....

But man I gota get that UPS fixed and now the generator....

Ya, it was worrisome. I was tripping out because all of the flashing lights looked like a lightning storm. Did you see that Steve?

yeah, I work nights. so went outside for a while and the lightining storm was crazy it just kept on going!

I expected to wake up to a fog of smoke, AGAIN!

that outage was a major pain here also. I woke at 1:30am to hear my dog going nuts downstairs and my sump overflowing all over my floor. Good times..

Yeah, it was NOT a fun night. the Whelk and I fashioned props to a dremel and a power drill. Circulation baby!!! Pics soon...

Overnite power outages in spots. I think the lightning storm may have had something to do with it.

I thank the reef gods for having the means to acquire a reliable generator.

huge Power Outage in the Carmichael Citrus Heights area (surrounding areas too) lasted 2 hours for me, not sure about other places. First power outage since setting up a reef tank. Scary Stuff!

I had NO idea any of this was going on. Tanks doing great over here. I usually hit the sack around 10pm so I don't even know if my power went out......

I sleep dangerously sound anyways :lol:

Yeah so Odd... Guess I was so wirried about power I did not notice ANY lighting or thunder...
When I called SMUD to report the outage they said they knew and 10,000+ customers were out...

The UPS finally died off completely hence a few hours more down time this afternoon...

I fixed the generator, gave it an oil change and that did not fix it, so I disconnected the oil low saftey, and it ran for a solid 1.5 hours till I shut it down...
So the oil low switch has gone bad....
Hoh well atleast it runs now...

Probably good for a whole 'nother thread...but what does everyone have set up for power outages in terms of emergency circulation measures? I see a couple actually have generators and a UPS. I've been reading about battery powered air pumps that sound intruiging. Anyone else have any system they use for emergencies? Currently I don't have anything ready and this thread just scared me stupid!
