Power Outage Problem

I am running two Vortechs, each on its own BB. The power went out this afternoon and when it came back on, one pump was still running on battery power (green flashing light). I started playing with the plugs and it looks like one of my power supplies is the problem. There is no power being supplied to the pump from the outlet and the small green light on the power cord box is not lit.

So what's up? Is there something I can do to try to fix the problem or do I need to send the cord in for repair or replacement? Is there something I could have done to avoid having this happen?

In the mean time, with the power back on, and the BB plugged in, is there any ill effect in running the pump off the BB until I solve the problem? Or should I unplug the pump from the BB and not run it at all?

Please help!

Hi,

Please check to ensure that the black powersupply is in fact the culprit by swapping the parts between your two pumps to isolate the problem. After this, please send an email to service@ecotechmarine.com with this description as well as your pump's serial numbers and we will begin to process your request.

In the mean time I do not recommend running the pump through the battery backup, but in a crunch it can be done.

Just to make sure I understand 100%, you're just saying to swap the plugs between the drivers and see if the problem follows the plug and not the driver right? I believe this is the case but I will triple check again before emailing.

Thanks for the help,

RW

Well, I unplugged the BB from the driver last night but left the AC power plugged in. I came home from work this afternoon and the pump was running! Everything looks fine.
