Power outages

Boy I had 2 power outages! One for about an hour in Irvine due to the thunder storms! Has anyone tried to hook their system to UPS or gas geneator?

If I want to run one 135W pump and one 35W flow, total of 170W on a 1500VA and 865W?

Can a electric start gas geneator be setup to run as standby when the power is out?

We had an outage yesterday. I have no idea when, or how long it was out. Everything looks fine.

Simon, I have all my tanks on UPSs My main pump and the back up power for my AquaControllerlll on my 240 on a 750 VA UPS. Whe the batteries were good it would run my 1/15 HP pump for an hour. I just yesterday bought a 1500VA UPS, as my battries need replacing and I wanted more protection. CompUSA had them on sale for $149.00 after rebates.
Gas generators with auto start and auto switch over are very pricy. If I ever get it set up my AquaControllerlll will email me in the event of a power outage so I can come home and start my generator or have someone else do it for me.

Steve, I can swing by one day and try and help you with that blasted ACIII.

I got mine to send to me, well I go AquaNotes to do it. Apparently there is a new firmware version for the ACIII that will allow me to get the controller to mail me.
