It's harder to say when someone locally won... but I always say about any lottery... is for people that don't understand math (statistics). But to each their own, if you don't play, you can't win that once in 100,000 lifetimes chance.

Rent or go to a movie and you're spending 5 or 10 bucks. Buy a lottery ticket and daydream what you'd do. Move or keep your existing house and build it the way you want it to be? Buy a house in Ireland and another in Barbados? What kind of cars would you buy? Have a house in the country to get away from it all? What would you do for your friends? What would you do for strangers?

It's really no different than seeing a movie - it just depends upon how you want to lose yourself for a few hours.

I probably watch too many crime shows because the first thing I think of, since they are always right on top of people who win and start broadcasting their names and faces on TV, is that I start worrying about if my son was going to be the target of kidnappers or other family members. I mean, everyone would know you have a very large chunk of CASH available. Not tied up in real estate purchases or stock or whatever, but cold hard cash that you just got and is available to you.

I suppose that if someone wanted to try and get money from you, you could just say "I have a reef tank" and they'd immediately know that you don't have any money anymore. :lol:

Wait a minute, I do that without buying a ticket! I guess people could pay to watch me do nothing and daydream. :lol:
