Powerbright LED

I have 6 of the blue ones over my tank and LOVE them. They make the corals glow like nothing I have ever seen before.

drs foster and smith have them on sale right now for $58 for the main and $44 for the links.

Anative- they actually help growth? It was my understanding that they were just supplemental.

anative

what are the dimensions of your tank, did you get the blue only or the blue and white.

Are they really bright? I was thinking of getting three for my 4 feet tank.

If your going supplemental ....check these out...any comments anyone?...screw into a standard light socket...

What do yall think???

It seems there was a thread about them on the lighting forum. As I recall people who tried them said that they were too focused and didn't spread the light very well. I think they are similar to the spotlights seen on Japanese tanks. They are good for spotlighting a coral or two but not good for an all tank suplemental. That's why I would assume you see multiple spotlights on the Japanese tanks. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..... this is just what I recall reading a while back.

thats pretty much what I was thinking (the japanese spot-lit tanks) also they have a red one along with a blue one and a combo red/blue one also...was thinking of trying them all out

tell ya'll a little trick. After christmas last year. I found a strand of blue led christmas lights. has 60 lights. I just stapled them to the inside my hood. was a bit to bright so I took one bulb out and every other one is on now. works great for 8 bucks! Best investment I made so far!

oh and this is the white strand I got. I liked it better than the blue. the white led has a hint of blue like moon light. the blue just looked to fake.
