Powerbrites

I just removed the hood from my 12 gal nano and installed the 70W K-2 viper and man do I miss the actinics. I was thinking of adding an actinic powerbrite as a dusk/dawn light and actinic suppliment while the halide is on. I havn't seen a powerbrite in action before and assumed they were used for moonlights but after reading up I hear great things. Do you think my plan will work? will they provide enough/too much light for the 12?

I want that POP back!!!!

they are really bright and will add blue but unfortunately they do not dispurse the light well. they will spotlight the corals they shine on but to cover the whole tank you will have to get it a good distance from the water.

Thanks for the info.

As I have no canopy, I was thinking of making a DIY bracket from acrylic that would sit at the front of the tank directed down towards the back at an angle. Maybe I will just have to play with distance to get the coverage.

Without a lens the dispersal pattern should be reasonable. However lenses are available up to 80˚
