Powerhead and anemone

I was wondering how come so many anemones get sucked up into powerheads? Don't most people use the cover that comes with the MaxiJets? Does the anemone squeeze its tentacles through the cover?

it doesnt squeeze itself through... think about how it inflates: by filling up with water... so when it feels the suction it usually deflates those tentacles and they get sucked right in causing a chain reaction... i had a condi whose tentacles and base were on both sides of the screen on my HOB fuge (a 30 gallon hob filter) i pulled the screen off the HOB and left it on the sand and he walked out... amazing animals...

Mine just crawled up the side of the tank in right into the power head. A good 40% of him was caught in the powerhead and ripped to shreds.
