A quick question.

I have a 50 gal, 50 pounds live rock. I had 2 low flow powerheads that did the trick, but i broke one yesterday and want to order a new one, inexpensive is the key.

I am looking at the maxi jet from Marine depot

MP400 120V/60Hz 5W 106gph (400lph) 29" 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.00" H
MP600 120V/60Hz 7.5W 160gph (600lph) 53" 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.00" H
MP900 120V/60Hz 8.5W 230gph (870lph) 46" 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.25" H
MP1200 120V/60Hz 20W 295gph (1110lph) 69" 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.25" H

what is the right amount of flow. I have a uniquarium with the rio pump that came with it and one smaller power head.

suggestions please.

Flow all depends on what type of corals you have, if you have a reef. Otherwise I would see what flow the other power head put out and match it as close as possible with the new one.

the corals that i have are as follows:
Green Frogspawn
Green Candy Cane
Green Star Polyps
Brown Star Polyps
Zoanthids
Mushrooms (Green Hairy, Melon, Blue pimpled, blue stripped, green ricordia, blue)
Xenia - waving hand
Galaxia

no way of knowing the other flow, it was given to me from a buddy, don't even know what kind it is, but it works quite well. just want to put one more in to replace the one i broke.

I myself depending on where the power head is placed would go with the MP900. The corals you have like decent flow, and that on should do the trick.
