powerhead keeps falling off

I have an oceanic 120g with starfire glass. And I just bought a Vortech mp40qd from aquacave. I'm using the ¼" to ½" spacer, although also tried just the gasket. I've have it on steady (green) and have tried it on low and also on high. No matter what I do, and yes, I've cleaned both sides of the glass, the wetside vibrates so much that it just falls off all the time. I'm so frustrated that I don't know what to do.

I had a cheap powerhead in there (was trying to save $ before adding corals) but it died quickly so went this costly route but I'm frustrated. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The wet side keeps falling off? If it's the dry side put dab of Silicon on it

Thanks but yes it's the wet side that keeps falling off. It's vibrating so much that it just falls off thanks.

I'd try taking It apart and reassemble if that didn't I'd contact the vendor...GL

Assuming you are using the proper spacer for your glass thickness and that the wet and drysides are properly aligned, a vibrating wetside means it has either come apart or it is defective. However, a vibrating wetside usually means it's not aligned properly.

Open it up and verify that the magnet is not split open. I realize it's new, but it just takes a minute to check. The only time I had a MP40QD vibrating off (when properly aligned) was when I had a split magnet. Ecotech sent me out a new wetside and I was back in business.

One of my 40s slid down decoupling and the tech at VorTech had me use the thicker spacer than the manual recommended for my glass thickness and it works? I did not have problems with vibration though.
