You mean the AC 70 HOB filter? No, thats nowhere near enough flow...those only do 300gph i think (i've got one and i'm using it on my 16g bowfront...and i still need to get more flow in that thing...)

You'll wanna go with around 20 times turnover per hour...for 55g tank, you take 20 times 55...whatever number that is (i havent multiplied it, but i'm thinking its around 1300gph total), thats the amount of gallons per hour you should shoot for with all your powerheads and stuff combined.

Personally i dont like maxijets and other similar powerheads. I like stuff like seios and koralias which give much wider/softer flow.

Second the vote for koralia's, stream type powerheads are great. Probably Koralia 2's or 3's would be best for a 55.

Vote 4 for Hydros. Great directional flexibility, nice wide water stream, magnet allows you to put them anywhere on the tank.

Hydor Koralia are nice im going to get two of them for my 55 gallon and do i need powerheads if i do not have a reef im going to put some reef stuff in soon as soon as my cuz takes my puffer and tigger

Koralias or Tunze Nanostreams would be my first choice.
