powerheads that work with rkl?

does anyone know of any powerheads that will work with the rkl wavemaker function? i just bought a pair of hydor 4s and they make a lot of noise when they cut on
 
Return them. They are not built for that type of function. Pick up some of the Sicce Voyagers they work very well for it. Aquatic Critter carries them.
 
+1 to Sicce Voyagers. Use them with my Reef-Keeper and its a champ.

Critter has at least 4 of every size in stock right now ;)
Remember if you are alternating them, you'll want to get the bigger size to make up for not having both on at the same time. flow wise.
 
thanks guys the hydors are so loud when they start i just have them changing every hour
i got the 4s because i thought the same thing about only having one on lucky guess lol
 
i have a 55 gallon tank the sicce 3s at 1200 gph should be good? i also have two hydor 1s behind the reef on all the time just courious what you guys think thanks for the imput
 
what is the deal with the RKL? i have not seen one and from the description it seems as though you have to buy a module for each function you want. so a wavemaker module, a ph, ect, ect. is this really how they work or can they be used "off the shelf"for some functions like powerhead control?
 
They can be used off the shelf for wavemaker control, but you have to have powerheads that can handle on/off functionality.

yeah the wavemaker function is built in but there are very few pumps that can handle the on off at least pumps that wont break the bank.
 
Yep... But that's not the rkl's fault. Its just part of the hobby. There aren't any inexpensive controllable pumps. :)
 
agreed. The sicce have quality components at a koralia proce and can handle a wavemaker.

The RKL is an entry level package of a very powerful controller. Well worth the money.
 
yeah the rkl level 3 is awesome it does so much for the price and the sicce pumps are very nice and were not to bad on the bank but a new set of k4s and then a set of sicce 3s is a little rough i should have asked people on here the k4s were an inpulse buy
