Maxi-jets are great pumps. What are you planning on using them for? If you are looking for water movement in your tank you could look at Tunze Nano Streams or Hydor Koralias they use a lot less power then the Maxis and provide a wide flow.
Maxi jets are pretty nice PHs, They run forever and are cheap to buy. There are also lots of mod kits that will turn them into very high flow units. If you have the MJs already i would get the mod kits if you want a more dispirsed flow. The Koralias are nice units too.
If you look online you can find the tunzes for 6025 for about $60. I know that is more then a maxi. The hydors are cheaper then the tunze. Maxis will work very well I have several of them just not in my tank anymore.
Was actually getting ready to order the Maxi jets but wanted some opinions first. We can always upgrade later to the Tunze if we need to. Thanks everyone!
I think they are all good. You might just get a bad apple sometimes. Mix and match. I've had an aqauclear power filter on my freshwater tank for 16 years now without replacing the impeller. Different, but the same.
