Do PPE go through phases where they don't open? mine haven't opened in 5-7 days.

Yes Marsh... its probably "budding" check the mat or sides for new nubs or new growth...
That sounds scary. I would've thought it was a goner if mines did that.

I've always wondered why I see groups of my zoas closed up for lengthy periods. Thanks for the info! I had no idea it was because of budding.

That makes me feel much better. I've been scared that was it for them. I didn't know they went through periods of closed time.
As far as I can tell nothing has been bothering them. I haven't seen anything really even go near them

An update on the ppe. I was gone out of town for work for 4 days, when I got back one of the 6 polyps had opened and I have 2 new polps coming out. Right now it doesn't look like the big ones are gonna open
