I agree those are nice. I have ones like those but the centers look more lighter than that and it doesn't look green. I'll try to post pictures later when the lights are on.

Those look like PPE, a wider picture would be a help also, but that in itself is a great picture.

I also agree, they are ppe.
That happens to be the same guy where I got mine from, and he keeps them under dual 400 watt 6500k Iwasaki, which would explain the faded color.
Mine have since produced true color babies under my 250 watt 14k Hamiltons.

I thought PPE, too. They aren't as purple as some I've seen (especially lately), but they still look like PPE's to me. Mine are darker like those. I run 250W DE 10K AB's, which is overkill for most things I'm keeping right now...

if they are PPE. they are faded significantly.

but also, could just be a wild version of PPE and not develop the purple center. i've seen a good number of these circulating. and they just stay brown.

in this case, I would not call them PPE.. maybe BPE--Brown People Eaters..

A lot of color depends on the light too....I think they are actully PPE but the lighing isn't well representive of the true color.

the lighting has faded out all of the purple color most likely. i had those new 175w Iwasaki Aqua2 14k bulbs over my tank for about a month before i got rid of them. they turned my PRPE's (which have the exact same purple center as a PPE) completely brown just like in the picture above.

Ill see if he will respond on here, but Im telling you guys its just the lighting he has. His tank is almost all sps, so he gets better growth with that setup. The ones I bought from him last year do have purple faces and green mouths and skirts in my tank.
I dont know if he wants me posting his site as he sells frags from his tank on there and might not want to be bombarded by requests.

As far as i know they are the real PPE's. As mentioned above I cannot keep the so called "purple" color due to my lighting which is suited for sps. I think youll find most people with "purple" PPE's are running very blue lighting, and if you put them under a lower spectrum lighting they will quickly show their true color, which is indeed brown...
