Prazi Pro Prophylactic Treatment

I received my A. Ocellaris clowns and am treating with Prazipro as a prophylactic treatment. I read the instructions and have a question.

Do you turn off the protein skimmer for the entire treatment (5-7 days) or just for a few hours after the prazipro is put into the tank? Thanks!!

My guess would be entire treatment. Ask in the fish disease forum.

thanks. someone was doing a similar treatment and stated the skimmer should be off for the whole treatment.

I would recommend you quarantine the fish for three weeks. PraziPro will kill certain flukes and flat worms but will NOT cure the most common diseases for Clownfish which is Brooklynella and the various forms of Ich which include Marine Velvet. Brook has to be treated with Formalin and Ich with copper. If your clown is wild caught then Brook is the most likely problem and you do NOT want it in your community tank. So a three week quarantine is you best bet to keep your main tank parasite free.
