Those of you who regularly use this med...

I see many people often do multiple treatments. It says on the bottle the treatment may be repeated. How do you space the treatments out? Do you change our water between treatments? Is there a significant risk of overdosing this med?

I'm finishing up dosing my 180 now (today is fifth day), I overdosed slightly (rounded up to 2oz (240g dose) on what is probably 200gal volume). I am wondering if I should wait a week then redose, or resume skimming/carbon for a few days, etc in between. Or just put another 2oz in.

Praziquantel does not last very long in the SW aquarium and breaks down rather quickly. The best way is to do a 50% water change then redose. But that's likely not possible in a 180 gallon. I would do as large a WC as possible, then run lots of carbon for two days and redose.

i would do three doses six days apart with the 25% water change just before the next dose, shut off skimmer, and remove carbon.

With my 210 I dosed for 240 gallons of water (55g sump but a lot of rock in the tank and sump) and figured it was an overdose. I treated 5 days, did a 50 gallon water change and then treated again for 5 days. I didnt skim or use activated carbon during the entire 10 day process.

I've done this twice with good results and no harm to the fishies.

If I'm feeling ambitious I do a 25-50% water change every day and re-dose the appropriate amount to get the concentration back up.
