Precision Marine Bullet 3 skimmer help

hello guys,


i have Precision Marine Bullet 3 wich is rated for 400 gallon tank, i am setting up 90 gallon tank.. is this going to create any problme? over skimming is good or bad? please advice!

Thats alot of skimmer for a 90 but I don't think you can over skim. You could probably run it for a few hours a day and be fine with it otherwise it will probably just sit there doing nothing most of the time. Nice skimmer!

What pump do you have for it?

I run the bullet-2 on my 65g. that is one monster skimmer though. IMO you cant overskim.

thanx for the replys pros.. i haven't bought the pump for it.. which one should i buy? i have a mag pump model 9.5 B can i use that? kindly advice..

Interested in trading? My bullet 2, perfect condition sitting in my garage for my new setup, plus some cash. My new tank is 300g and my Bullet 2 is a tad too small.

No way should you use a submersible pump on that thing. They don't work as well as an external and if you do get one big enough it will add a serious amount of heat to your water. The smallest one I would recommend is a GenX PCX-40.

so i am going with pan world 100px its one of the pump that is recommended by PM... so now which pump should i get for the main circulation? its a 90 gallon tank.. how many GPH pump should i get? please advice.. thank you

Alot goes into consideration with that. What kind of corals do you want to keep? Sand bed? Rock structure plays an important role in tank circulation as well. Do you want to have other pumps in the tank to provide circulation or just the return?
