Hi all,

first time posting on this forum hope its alright,
I decided to go w/ a point-n-shoot camera that has some underwater capabilities as well, although i'm open to suggestions i decided on olympus 1030 sw especially after seeing a thread started by o.c.d here on RC (link to that thread )

the price tag for this camera is lowest at preferredphoto.com at 273$.

before placing an order i was wondering if anyone has ordered from them before or heard anything?

thank you in advance

thanks for the response beerguy -
the link you provided (bh photo video) sells it for 350$, that's a big difference, no?

and for the reseller rating, i saw that they were owned by broadway photo, but again no ratings on them either...

The link that I posted was their rating. 0.91 out of 10

They're crooks and you can't buy that camera for $273

The way it works is that you order the camera online. They send you an email telling you that you need to call them to verify some credit info. Once on the line they try to sell you a bunch of accessories that are supposed to come with the camera. If you agree, you end up spending more than it's worth. If you decline the extras your item will never ship.

i had the same experience. ordered the 1030sw, they sent email to call and confirm. when i declined all the extras they tried to sell me, the camera was "now" out of stock.
i finally got it at buy.com, through one of their partners Electronics Expo. paid $303 after $30 rebate from buy.com.
