Hey guys! Recently my tailspot blennys stomach has been getting hudge and I don't know what it is from. Over feeding? Because I feed him a lot and always have but his belly has never been this big! It's like doubled in size and I don't know what's wrong any advice?
I had a Tribal Blenny who that happened to. He passed away a few days after I noticed the swollen belly (guessing at him being a male). I have heard that it is caused from either an infection or something else to their fragile abodomen. I hope this isn't the case with yours but just something to keep an eye on. If you do not have another blenny is is less than likely that yours is pregnant.
This is just my experience and is not based on anything more than what I saw with my blenny, good luck.
Do you have another blenny? Blennies don't get "pregnant" as they spawn and fertilize eggs externally, but a female can get big if she's hydrating eggs a day or two before spawning.
