Pregnant Pistol Shrimp

Hi ;)

Probably not in a normal tank. If You want to raise the young You should separate the gravid female until it releases the larvae. Pistol shrimp larvae will be pelagic zoea that need a little current (air stone) and much food like artemia naupliae or other phytp- and zooplancton. Depending on species they need some 30 to 150 days until they molt to young pistol shrimps.

Well they def have enough space to where the fish couldn't get em.. they have a large tunnel system and 3 large rooms under the rock.. hmm.. ill just let it play out n see if I can catch any of the lil ones later on

Space is not the problem but the little larvae would be drawn into a filters and/or flow pumps, eaten and would never find enough to feed on.

As said they need really large amounts of little brine shrimp or other plancton as food. An air stone must be in the little breeding tank for a soft current.
