Prego or air bubble?

I noticed a few days ago that my males pouch is bloated and I am not sure why.

He doesn't appear to be floating but I am new at this so I thought I should ask the pros.

What do you think?

If he is not having any bouyancy issues it is not air in the pouch.

He is either pregnant or he has simply filled his pouch with water, which males will sometimes do.

I noticed his pouch is light. Many times a pregnant males pouch will turn dark for the duration of the pregnancy.

There are a few signs you can watch for if he is pregnant. Most will become very reclusive, pouch will darken as I mentioned and some will be a little more difficult to feed, sometimes needing to be target fed to be sure they are getting enough nutrition.

so if he is pregnant how long do they gestate?

14-18 days usually

Gestation period is approximately two weeks, depending on water temp.

temp is between 70 and 72


I first noticed the pouch about a week ago, so I guess I will just wait it out.
