Preparing for next power outtage

where could I find a battery pak or small generator to keep my tanks going during an outtage? I really only need anought power to run a 150watt heater and 2 power heads.

Jake if you have a 50 watt heater and 1 small pump to keep the tank running during a power outage then that would be sufficient, you want to draw as little power as possible. Get yourself a 650va UPS at office depot and hook one heater and one power head to it and it will kick in when the power goes out.

My other backup is a 400 watt Coleman inverter ($24.99) and a spare car battery, this will run my main pump for hours and hours.
(tested it once, got tired of waiting for the battery to wear down)
Nice thing about this is you can swap the battery into a vehicle and charge it back up.

Right now, Costco has 1000 watt inverters for $58.99 or something like that.

Yes it does, and if you buy the kit you can link 2 of them together for 4000 watts. What I like is they only weigh 47 LBS each.

So your talking the EU2000i then, right? Those things ROCK and $950 isn't a bad price either. Cheaper tehn my local supplier

I've slept next to them, well, 10' away, and had no problem. It was only running at 1/4 load, but even at 1/2 it wasn't loud at all. It's the only one I would buy other then the eu3000i or the eu6000i

You can also get add on gas tanks to increase your run time by like 25 hours!!! They just basicly mod the cap to allow a tube to go to a 6 gallon reseve tank making the EU2000i have a total of 6.1 gallons .

$950 is a great price for new. Northbay Motorsports has them for the same price now.

If you watch Craigslist, I've seen used EU2000's go for as low as $600 and 1000's for $350

Do the gas tank mods come from Honda?

I ran my generator yesterday while cleaning the garage, put a load on it and let it run for a few hours. I am going to put that on my Outlook Calendar:thumbsup:
