Prepping PVC for hospital tank??

I started a hospital tank with live rock and substrate/sand. I built a small PVC form with hiding places that I plan to replace the rock and sand with. What kind of cleaning/prepping should be done to the PVC prior to tank use? Bleach soak, vinegar soak, simple tap rinse/RO soak??

I always give store bought PVC a good wipe with a paper towel soaked in vinegar and then rinse thoroughly.

Although it may be obvious to most, you have to use PVC fittings. PVC pipe floats!

huh? i use regular pvc (cut to length) and seems to sink... maybe it is the thickness, i am using 1.5"?

That's interesting. I bought a length of 3" PVC pipe, cut it into three sections, which proceeded to float to the top of the tank.
