after all these rumours and being permanently asked for further information by email, PMs or phone we decided to do the official announcement earlier.

Yes, GHL will release their own LED pending lamp soon!

After more than 2 years of development we are proud to present a modern and innovative LED-lamp, which doesn't leave any wishes open in my opinion.
We didn't want to release just another LED-lamp with the usual features, we wanted to develop one of the best LED-lamps on the market!

Here are some of the highlights - but I will not tell everything, this happens when the lamp is released officially in May!

LEDs:
- 8 light colors, all separately dimmable: ultra white, royal blue, blue, true green, yellow, red, hyperred and UV (420 nm)
- 62 LEDs per lamp
- 6 separately replacable LED-clusters on IMS boards
- PAR: I think more than you need!

Intelligence + Userinterface:
- own controller (32 Bit ARM)
- graphical display, 6 touch-Keys

communication:
- radio (2.4 GHz)
- USB

Operation modes:
- standalone (runs autonomous)
- master (controls other lamps wirelessly)
- slave (is controlled from other lamps or ProfiLux wirelessly)

Energy:
- high-efficiency mode (max. economy and LED lifetime)
- high output mode (max. brightness)

Thermal management:
- innovative cooling concept with 4 extremely quiet and compact cooling fans
- fans are temperature controlled

Design:
- select out of several colors
- fans and heatsinks are not visible from outside
- ca. 300 mm x 200 mm x 40 mm

Functions:
- sliding clouds and sunrise over several lamps
- all illumination functions of ProfiLux
- full control over output light spectrum

Others:
- firmwareupdates possible
- true dimming technology: non visible brightness steps with more than 3000 dimming steps per channel
- incl. lamp holder
- universal power supply with wide range input

I am quite sure it is worth to wait until May!

A full group buy announcement will come in May. This will coincide with the finalising of the NEW GHL USA retailer geographic role out. We are finalising now all online points of sale, we will then be working on store front only locations.

We expect to have no more than 3 online sale arenas widely spread out so people can purchase from a close to them as possible which reduces shipping costs. We will not have multiple locations as it is not fair to all those dealers that spend a lot of time and effort to run such dedicated online sales areas.

At present we are finalising North East , South East and Central/West. North East is finalised

The LED group buy will be run through these channels

To be honest this is what the US market needs. Right now it's cumbersome to get parts and accessories. The shipping from Canada to US once you add in brokerage fees, duty fees, time in transit, etc. is the bottleneck. Nothing directly reflected on you or any other dealer but I truly believe GHL needs stocking dealers in the US to increase the the sales channel and install base. And the more the better, at least in a regional situation. The plan sounds solid and I am sure I speak for other US users we look forward to it.

Without detracting from the thread - Yes and this is now in place, the max this will change to is 4, but we will balance this with demand as not to effect those that have dedicated a lot of time and effort into a GHL USA sales arena.

Back to the subject on hand -- do we know anything at all regarding price? Ball park numbers even would be fine.

No idea at all sorry, we never get a price until the day the product announcment comes. This is just a teaser announcment.

My guess is we will not see pricing until mid May in all honesty. Of course if it comes sooner you will know, but even then only ball park as we have to price it based on the Euro at the time and thats up and down right now more often than a pair of tarts knickers!

This has totally ruined my day. I was so excited to replace my tired MH/VHO set up next week for some Radions. I have not purchased so much as a frag in the last four months so I could get them and on the eve of the purchase you make this announcement. You have given me enough information to make me pause and question my expected purchase, but, not quite enough to slam the door on it. The only fair thing to do here is to offer me an opportunity to test them out prior to release since I have the cash in hand and an extensive Profilux list. I would also be able to answer the question, "Will they penetrate my 30" deep tank". I'll sit by my computer and await your PM. Lol
