Prestwood's 300g Build

Thanks Kem

A couple people commented that putting the ballasts on top of the canopy was a good idea. With that much heat it seemed like the only choice to me.

Thanks, coming from you two that means something.

I still need to to do a bit of cleanup work but the bulk of the initial setup is done. Next is the skins, oh and that pesky livestock.

Someone asked how I did the rockwork.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears...

I glued 14 3/4" OD, 3/4" tall acylic pegs to the bottom of the tank pretty much evenly spaced.

I cut the the bottom rocks in half with a masonary blade and a chop saw

I drilled 1" holes in the bottom so they would sit on the pegs. This allows them to rotate but prevents them from sliding

I cut 6 20" lengths of 1/2 OD delrin rod

I drill 1/2" holes through all the rocks with my drill press and a 1/2" masonary bit

I drilled approx 75 3/8" plug holes in the rocks

I placed the bottom (flat) pieces and rods in the tank

I slide the rest of the rockwork down the rods

Viola
