Hey,

Is there any method to prevent an Anemone from splitting? I would personally have one larger one than two smalls =D. Thanks for any help.

Chris

From my experience, BTAs split because of environmental stresses. I've always had a lot of splitting after very large water changes, heat spikes, or large storms.

BTA's are the only anemone that will generally split in the aquarium.. H. Magnifica will also but highly unlikely in the aquarium, i believe a couple of people have had this happen.. but i dont believe any of the other clown hosting anemones will split, they spawn..

If you don't want them to inevitably split, then get rid of them. I assume you are talking about bubble tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor), since splitting is most common in this species. There are many other species that rarely, if ever, split also.
