Preventive Meds?

Do any of you guys use meds or anything on your fish before adding them to the display tank while they are still in the quarantine tank. What types of things are good to use? Also is it a good idea to get garlic or something for any picky eaters or to keep fish healthier? Any other meds or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I've heard Methaline blue works well? People have told me they use it for powder blue tangs while in quarantine. Is this good?

Thanks alot

I treat all new fish with two rounds of Prazipro. I only treat for other diseases if I see symptoms, but a lot of people treat with Cupramine prophylactically as well. I have only ever used methylene blue in freshwater dips.

Garlic is a good idea, but be aware that some fish actually dislike garlic, so if you are having trouble getting a fish to eat make sure to offer food without garlic sometimes too. I have found Selcon to be at least as good at stimulating appetite as garlic so you might try that too. I also try to keep a wide variety of foods for new fish, pretty much every food that I've had fish eat. Sometimes the last thing I expect them to eat is what they go for.

Great question. I have my first fish that wasn't purchased from Diver's Den. I'm wondering what to treat it for as prevention. I just read about Prazipro after reading this thread and that sounds like a good idea to me.
