Is $89 too much for a Purple Tang? I've wanted one for a long time, but always held off when i just had the 75. I feel more comfortable putting one in the 120. This fish has been in the store for a couple of weeks, seems to be eating and looks healthy. I remember when i first looked couple of years ago they were in the 50-60 dollar range for a 3 1/2 to 4" fish. Have they really gone up that much?

Thanks

It seems high to me but I'm cheap, yes, there is a such thing as a cheap reefer. But if you really want it I'd say purchase it but only if its really healthy.

LOL! It just takes us a while to fill up the tank, that's all. ;)

Price is subjective. If it's a healthy animal, eating well, with no signs of disease from a reputable shop I like doing business with?... I wouldn't squawk at that price.
Can you find a Zebrasoma xanthurum available from a retailer for less? Prolly.

Petco in Plattsburgh has 2 @ 109.99 each. Like he said, they even come with free ich.

Sad as it may seem, there was a time in Plattsburgh when Petco had the best selection of SW fish in the area. Thank god the LFS's have picked it up a bit in the last 8 month to a year. One sold in my LFS for $79 and looked to be in decent shape, so depending on the size and health $89 might be on target.

if you check online and at local stores, not a bad price if fish is healthy. The Reefe Shoppe had them for about 90-100. In syracuse, you could pay above $100 EASILY. Beautiful fish. Good Luck.
