I second photobret. I have had to isolate my protopalys so they won't grow onto my liverock. FYI, a big proto colony can be very slimy.

How do I know if these guys are getting enough light? From what I understand if they are always closed they aren't getting enough. I put these near the surface and they are much brighter colored and appear happier, they have never been closed but I only 500 watts of pc lighting and its in a 150 so about 3 watts per gallon.
